Used 2016 Hyundai Veloster for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2016 Hyundai Veloster cost?

Prices have softened 6.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 325 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Veloster a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its sporty design, fun driving experience, and good fuel economy, and many also like the unique third door for easier rear-seat access. The Veloster’s practical hatchback layout helps it work as a daily driver, especially if you want something that feels different from a typical compact car. With 36.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2016 Hyundai Veloster reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also highlights reliable performance, along with the kind of ownership experience that helps you feel confident about a used purchase. That matters because a car that owners describe as dependable and trouble-free is often easier to live with over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing a car with hidden wear or poor maintenance history, so condition and records matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Hyundai Veloster?

At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with past damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or shows signs of cosmetic repair. Focus on overall condition, because a sporty used hatchback can hide wear that affects how well it will hold up for you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Veloster?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $8,106, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Veloster's resale value?

The current average of $8,163 sits slightly below last year's $8,695.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car more approachable for you now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect your future value. The model’s distinctive design and broad owner appeal can support demand, especially among shoppers looking for something sporty and practical.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Veloster or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.
