2020 Hyundai Sonata

For 2020, the Sonata gets a full redesign that brings an updated engine and all-new features. The Hyundai Sonata competes against vehicles such as the Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, and Mazda6.
The basis for the new Sonata's look is Hyundai’s latest design philosophy, which it calls “sensuous sportiness.” Blacked-out pillars provide the look of a 4-door coupe. The front end is sophisticated with a new type of lighting that looks like chrome when the lights aren’t illuminated. The bold body lines draw the eye back to a sculpted tail highlighted by an LED strip across the width of the car. Alloy wheels are available in 16-, 17-, and 18-inch designs.
The new Sonata offers two powertrains. The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine is good for 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque, while a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine is rated for 180 hp and 195 lb-ft. Both feature an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive (FWD). Hyundai projects 33 mpg combined from the 2.5-liter engine and 31 mpg combined from the 1.6-liter turbo engine.
The Sonata’s cabin is comfortable yet sophisticated, featuring modern technology integrated in an intuitive and useful way. Interior ambient lighting provides continuity with the exterior design. Features and options include a customizable 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a proximity key, push-button start, remote start, heated and ventilated front seats, a sunroof, a hands-free trunk, and Hyundai's Digital Key smartphone app, compatible with Android devices. It allows owners to lock, unlock, and drive the Sonata without using a key or a fob.
The infotainment system features a standard 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and split-screen functionality. Options include a 10.25-inch touchscreen and wireless-device charging. Hyundai collaborated with Bose for an all-new 12-speaker sound system.
Hyundai brings a bunch of advanced safety tech to the Sonata, based on a network comprised of five cameras, three radar sensors, and a dozen ultrasonic sensors. Forward-collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, and smart cruise control with stop-and-go all come standard. Options include safe-exit assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and highway driving assist, which helps the car stay in the lane and maintain safe following distances. The new Sonata also features Remote Smart Parking Assist, which can drive the car into and out of tight spaces autonomously.
The Sonata has earned a reputation as one of the more dependable, practical choices in the midsize car class, but it’s clear that with this redesign, Hyundai hopes to make the Sonata an aspirational choice.

by Guru9YJMCRSmooth ride; beautifully clean interior; great sound system; great look. After my accident left my 2016 Hyundai Sonata totaled, we ended up buying this 2019, and it is better than the 2016 the way a newer year car should be, while also being a great, overall car the way the 2016 was! -

Review
by Jfarbs2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited is a great value. Tons of features in this model. Not worth paying $2k extra audio and other features (theyre really cool, but not worth that much extra). Among the Sonatas less-known benefits are a large (18.5 gallon) gas tank, larger trunk than comparable models, great turning radius, better interior and warmer seat h...
