Is the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 4.93/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the Traverse for its spacious interior, smooth ride, and powerful performance, and many also like its comfort and handling in challenging weather. That lines up well with its family-focused use case: you get a roomy three-row crossover that emphasizes everyday usability, passenger space, and straightforward technology. That said, used buyers should still plan for a careful inspection so you can reduce the risk of inheriting a vehicle with hidden wear or repair needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage matches the seller’s disclosure. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and overall wear so you can separate a clean example from one that may need extra attention.

If you find a listing below $19,084, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $19,084 sits slightly below last year's $22,498.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell. Demand should remain supported by the Traverse’s family-friendly space and broad appeal to practical shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.93/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.93/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,526, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,084 average.
• It adds a wider trim range and updated availability for shoppers who want more configuration choices.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the better primary choice if you want the strongest value and a lower entry price in a roomy three-row SUV. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer model-year option with more trim flexibility, the 2021 is the secondary path to consider.
