Is the 2020 Chevrolet Impala a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.9/5, which points to very strong satisfaction with this model year. The owner feedback highlights performance, spaciousness, and value for money, with drivers especially appreciating the handling, engine performance, and interior comfort. That lines up well if you want a roomy, comfortable full-size sedan with easy-to-live-with tech and everyday usability. With 27.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find attractive pricing.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Impala reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable and trouble-free in daily use, with strong marks for performance and comfort over time. For used buyers, that suggests lower long-term ownership risk than you might expect from a large sedan at this price point.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Impala?

At 54.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, paint match, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that could point to past collision work. Because this model is valued for comfort and space, make sure the cabin, electronics, and ride quality all feel consistent with the mileage and asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Impala?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 303 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,693, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?

The current average of $13,693 sits slightly below last year's $15,420.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a lower entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless the car is especially clean and well maintained. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot because buyers will likely compare your car against a fairly large pool of similarly priced listings. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the final-year Impala with strong owner satisfaction, a roomy cabin, and a market that has softened enough to create buying opportunities. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2020 remains the cleaner choice when you want the latest version of this nameplate and a broad set of listings to shop.
