Used 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback for Sale nearNew Brunswick, NJ

How much does the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback cost?

Prices are up 1.70% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 234 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, great fuel economy, compact size, and easy maneuverability, along with its tech features and thoughtful design. The overview also points to excellent value for money and premium interior materials, which helps explain why it feels more polished than a typical economy hatchback.

The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and limited rear-seat and cargo space. In practical terms, that means you should like this car most if you want an efficient, easy-to-live-with hatchback rather than one that prioritizes speed or maximum utility.

Good and great deals account for 33.8% of listings, so there is still some room to find a compelling purchase.

Is the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free character, with praise for the car’s smooth ride, great fuel economy, and the kind of thoughtful design that tends to make daily ownership feel easy. The expert review reinforces that impression by highlighting Toyota’s longstanding reputation for durability and the car’s strong value proposition.

You also get free scheduled maintenance for the first two years of ownership, which helps reduce early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether a given example has been worn down by heavy use or neglected maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?

At 72.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on the cabin and cargo area, since this model’s limited space is one of its known compromises and can be a clue to how the car was used.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE and XSE trims differ in appearance and equipment, with the XSE adding more upscale interior presentation and more technology. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting if you care about richer materials and a more premium feel.
• Powertrain: A naturally aspirated 2.0-liter 4-cylinder is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a Dynamic Shift CVT. The CVT adds a launch gear, simulated ratios, and drive modes, while the manual is standard across the lineup.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard, including adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centering assist. Maximum adaptive cruise-control capability requires the CVT, and blind-spot warning does not include rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: An 8-inch touchscreen is standard, along with Apple CarPlay, fast-charge USB ports, connected navigation app support, Wi-Fi Connect, Safety Connect, Siri Eyes Free, and Amazon Alexa integration. Android Auto is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review notes 33 mpg in combined driving as the EPA rating, and the test loop returned 29.2 mpg.

Which 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback trim should I buy?

The 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is offered in 2 trim levels: SE and XSE.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the trim to target if you want the lowest-cost path into the Corolla Hatchback’s core strengths. You still get the standard 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, and the same 2.0-liter engine, so it covers the essentials without pushing the price up as far as the XSE.
• XSE: This is the best-value trim if you want the more premium-feeling version. It adds a more upscale look and feel, more equipment, and the mid-grade infotainment setup, making it the better pick if you care about interior polish and extra features more than the lowest possible price.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard on every trim, but maximum adaptive cruise-control capability requires the CVT.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 234 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.70% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 72.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,807, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $17,816 sits slightly above last year's $17,519.

That upward move suggests the market has remained fairly supportive of this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A price trend like this usually means buyers still see value in the car’s mix of efficiency, practicality, and features.

Because the average price is still close to the year-round range, resale should remain relatively stable unless market conditions change sharply. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback safe?

The 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is standard on every trim, bringing adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and lane-centering assist. The system is generally well regarded, though the review notes that the lane-based aids can occasionally issue false alerts or intervene in ways the driver has to override.

A blind-spot-warning system is available, but it does not include rear cross-traffic alert, so you should rely on the standard reversing camera and be extra careful in parking lots. A free 3-year trial of Toyota Safety Connect is also standard, with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency assistance.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.70% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review says this redesign is more stylish, more sophisticated, and better to drive than the Corolla iM it replaces.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a smart choice if you want the Corolla Hatchback’s strongest mix of style, efficiency, and value in this early redesign year. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep an eye out for listings near the low end of the range, but make sure the car’s history and condition are clean before you commit.
