Is the 2019 Lexus IS a good car?

The 2019 Lexus IS is a solid fit if you want a compact luxury sports sedan with a sporty personality, a premium-brand badge, and a relatively approachable price point. It earns a user rating of 3/5, and its appeal is strongest if you value a smaller footprint and a fun-to-drive character more than maximum practicality. It is not the best choice for families, since the back seat is really tight, but it works well for younger buyers and shoppers who want an entry-level Lexus with a premium feel. The market also shows 32.0% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Lexus IS reliable?

The 2019 Lexus IS is presented as a compact luxury sports sedan with a long reputation for being fun to drive and a familiar choice for shoppers who want premium-brand style in an entry-level Lexus. It also benefits from standard luxury equipment and available safety features that help round out the ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that you may be trading some practicality and efficiency for style and driving enjoyment, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Lexus IS?

At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether prior damage was minor or more serious. Put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your checklist, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, since you want to make sure the car’s premium feel and driving character haven’t been compromised by past repairs or neglect.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Lexus IS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 413 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,531, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $24,354 sits slightly below last year's $24,989.

That tells you the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean a future seller has less pricing power than before. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you should be better positioned to limit depreciation. The key is to avoid overpaying now, since the recent trend suggests values have already softened.

Should I buy a 2019 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.54% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a good primary choice if you want a compact luxury sedan with a sporty feel, a premium badge, and a price that has moved down a bit. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the newest one.
