Is the 2019 Lexus ES a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the stylish design, smooth driving experience, and luxurious features, and they also highlight the comfortable interior and the brand’s reliability. That makes the 2019 Lexus ES a strong fit if you want a comfort-first luxury sedan for commuting and longer trips rather than a car built around performance. With 36.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2019 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners specifically call out the brand’s reliability, along with a smooth, trouble-free driving experience and a sense that the car is dependable over time. That kind of feedback matters most if you plan to keep the car for years, because it suggests lower ownership stress and fewer surprises for used buyers.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Lexus ES?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, paint matching, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, since those can reveal past collision work. It also helps to focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a clean-looking car with incomplete history can still carry hidden risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Lexus ES?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 737 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,792, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $26,846 sits slightly below last year's $27,779.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the car in strong condition. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $28,982, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $26,846 average.
• It adds more in-cabin tech features.

The bottom line: The 2019 is the better primary choice if you want the strongest value and a broad set of listings to compare. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2019 also makes sense because it already delivers the comfort-first ES formula at a lower average price than the 2020.
