Is the 2019 Dodge Challenger reliable?

For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction can reduce long-term ownership risk, though you should still verify maintenance history and condition carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Dodge Challenger?

At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you commit. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has performance upgrades, visible wear, or signs of hard use. Focus on overall condition, because a used Challenger’s value can vary a lot depending on how it was driven and maintained.

What is the 2019 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $25,007 sits slightly below last year's $25,671.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the car is kept. If you maintain it well and avoid accident history, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell. Strong demand for well-kept examples can help support pricing, especially for shoppers who want this model’s style and performance mix.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $28,931, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $25,007 average.
• It adds new colors, extra interior choices, and a 50th Anniversary package for some trims.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and inventory is healthy. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year and a few added appearance and trim touches, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider.
