Is the 2015 Dodge Challenger a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Dodge Challenger earns a 4.88/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its impressive power, retro design, comfort, and eye-catching looks. That lines up with the Challenger’s appeal as a car that blends classic style with everyday livability, while still giving you a more racy personality in R/T and SRT trim.

Is the 2015 Dodge Challenger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels impressive, comfortable, and easy to live with, with reviewers also calling out its strong performance and retro design. The expert evaluation reinforces that sense of dependability by describing the chassis and powertrains as well proven, with most of the bugs worked out.

The Challenger also comes across as a car you can count on for everyday use, especially given its roomy cabin and practical trunk. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Dodge Challenger?

At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, tires, and any signs of prior repair. Because the Challenger can be found in a wide range of trims and performance levels, condition matters as much as equipment when you’re comparing listings.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Challenger is available in 7 different basic configurations, from a V6-powered SXT to the Hemi-packing R/T, SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat. Base versions are more about style and everyday usability, while higher trims add the more serious performance hardware and features.
• Powertrain: V6-powered Challengers have at least 305 hp, while the SRT 392 uses a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. The manual transmission is a 6-speed Tremec, and the optional 8-speed automatic can help tame the car’s behavior a bit.
• Safety package: The Challenger can be equipped with adaptive cruise control with forward-collision warning, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-view cameras. Some of these aids are not universal across the lineup, so check the exact car carefully.
• Infotainment: The Challenger uses an 8.4-inch display with UConnect navigation and infotainment, plus smartphone integration through Bluetooth, USB, and auxiliary input. It can also act as an Internet hotspot with Mopar Web.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 Challenger will return up to 30 mpg highway, while the SRT 392 returned 14 mpg city/23 highway and 16 mpg in mixed driving.

Which 2015 Dodge Challenger trim should I buy?

The 2015 Dodge Challenger is offered in 7 trim levels: SXT, R/T, SRT 392, SRT Hellcat, and the other basic configurations explicitly referenced in the model’s lineup.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the value-oriented choice if you want the Challenger’s style and everyday livability without stepping into the higher-performance V8 models. It suits you best if you care more about the look, space, and lower running costs than outright speed.
• R/T: This is the best fit if you want the classic Hemi experience and a stronger performance character without jumping all the way to the SRT models. It’s the trim to target if you want the most balanced mix of personality and value.
• SRT 392: This is the enthusiast pick, with the 6.4-liter Hemi V8, upgraded brakes, adaptive dampening suspension, and SRT-specific drive modes. Choose it if you want the most serious all-around performance in the lineup short of the Hellcat.
• SRT Hellcat: This is the extreme performance choice for buyers who want the most powerful and most exclusive version mentioned here. It makes sense if your priority is maximum muscle-car drama rather than everyday restraint.

The safety-tech content also notes that the Challenger can be equipped with advanced driver aids, but availability varies by trim, so verify the exact equipment on any used example.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Dodge Challenger?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,108 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,233, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $21,177 sits slightly below last year's $21,607.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more selectively now. For a future seller, the current trend implies you may not see rapid appreciation, so condition and trim choice matter a lot if you want to protect value.

Higher-demand versions should remain easier to move than ordinary examples, especially if they’re well kept and equipped with desirable features. Strong pricing discipline today can also help you avoid overpaying for a car that may not rebound quickly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Dodge Challenger safe?

The 2015 Challenger has not been crash-tested yet, but earlier model years earned five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Challenger can be equipped with adaptive cruise control with forward-collision warning, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-view cameras. That said, limited visibility remains a notable drawback, and the car’s size can make low-speed maneuvering more challenging.

Should I buy a 2015 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 refresh adds updated styling and modern driver aids while keeping the Challenger’s retro character intact.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $24,347, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $21,177 average.
• It adds a shaker hood and fresh trim and wheel options.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2015 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a refreshed look. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer take with extra appearance options, the 2016 is the secondary path to consider.
