In use, that lines up with the Blazer’s road-focused personality from the overview: it’s aimed at drivers who want a midsize 5-passenger crossover that feels more at home on pavement than on rough terrain.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer reliable?

User feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable, with praise centered on smooth operation, sporty performance, and technology that feels satisfying in daily use. The expert drive notes also frame it as a capable road-going crossover that feels settled and confident on highways and byways, which supports the impression of a vehicle you can count on for regular use.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing a well-kept example that hasn’t been worn down by neglected maintenance or costly option-related repairs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Blazer?

At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has any accident history or signs of heavy use. Pay close attention to body condition, tire wear, and whether the vehicle’s equipment and features work as expected, since the Blazer’s appeal depends heavily on its styling and road manners.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L trim misses the blind-spot-monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert that are available on every Blazer except the standard L trim level, while RS and Premier are the starting point for adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist.
• Powertrain: The standard 193-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with a 9-speed automatic is described as adequate for flat areas and light-duty use, while the 305-hp 3.6-liter V6 and AWD bring stronger acceleration and more confident all-weather traction.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on every Blazer except the standard L trim level, and more advanced driver-assistance features require RS or Premier trim as a starting point.
• Infotainment: Chevrolet’s infotainment system is described as responsive and visually appealing, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support noted in the review, though the test vehicle also showed navigation and voice-recognition glitches.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review notes a combined figure of 21 mpg for the test vehicle, and also says the EPA expected 19.3 mpg on the author’s testing loop and 19.8 mpg after nearly 500 miles.

Which 2019 Chevrolet Blazer trim should I buy?

The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LT, RS, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, but it leaves out blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so it makes the most sense only if you’re focused on the lowest possible price and can live with a stripped feature set.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more flexibility than the base model and can be equipped with the safety and convenience features you’re most likely to want without jumping all the way to the pricier upper trims.
• RS: This is the trim to consider if you want the sportier personality and the starting point for advanced driver-assistance features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist.
• Premier: This is the most upscale choice, with the most premium-feeling presentation and the strongest fit if you want the Blazer’s style-first character in its most polished form.

Safety-package note: blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on every Blazer except the standard L trim level, while the more advanced driver-assistance features start at RS or Premier.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Blazer?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,296 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,448, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer's resale value?

The current average of $18,448 sits slightly below last year's $20,544.

That decline suggests the Blazer is currently in a softer pricing environment, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you’re planning to sell soon. If you own one, the current market indicates you may need to price competitively to move it, especially if your vehicle lacks desirable equipment or has any accident history.

The upside is that the Blazer’s style and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it’s time to resell. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer safe?

The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Teen Driver and Rear Seat Reminder come standard, which adds useful everyday protection for families and younger drivers. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are available on every Blazer except the standard L trim level, while adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist require RS or Premier trim as a starting point.

A key caveat is that the safety tech is not evenly distributed across the lineup, so lower trims leave you with fewer driver-assistance features unless you pay to move up.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 stands out for its road-focused personality, sporty styling, and strong expert praise for look and feel.

The bottom line: If you want the Blazer’s style-first design and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for condition and equipment, the 2019 is a compelling used buy. If you’re more price-sensitive or want a newer version with a broader standard feature set, a nearby model year may be the better path.

How does the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer compare to the 2019 Ford Edge?
