At 72.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

What is the 2019 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $44,282 sits slightly below last year's $47,228.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays under pressure. If you plan to sell later, condition and mileage will matter a lot, especially because buyers in this segment tend to compare closely on history and presentation. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $39,929, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $44,282 average.
• It shifts toward a more driver-focused grand touring setup with added rear-seat practicality.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the strongest mix of owner satisfaction, luxury appeal, and current-market availability. If your top priority is lower purchase price, the 2020 is the better secondary path because it undercuts the current-year average while keeping the same grand touring character.
