These recommendations are based on CarGurus' proprietary market data from October 22, 2026, CarGurus experts' opinions, and generative AI.

How much does the 2019 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 8.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,354 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX a good car?

Generally — the 2019 Acura MDX earns a 4.4/5 user rating and an 8.0/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, reliable performance, and the V6 engine’s power. The overview also points to a comfortable, practical three-row luxury SUV with broad everyday usefulness, which fits the MDX’s family-hauling role well.

At the same time, owner feedback notes that the interior does not feel as upscale as some rivals and that the infotainment system can be difficult to use. Even so, the MDX’s mix of comfort, space, and proven character makes it a strong fit if you want a familiar luxury SUV with a well-rounded personality.

Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a reliable performance profile, with several drivers describing the MDX as dependable and trouble-free over time. The overview also emphasizes its established track record and proven character, which supports the sense that this is a vehicle you can count on for long-term ownership.

The expert review reinforces that impression by describing the MDX as a familiar, well-developed model with ongoing refinement rather than a risky redesign. Acura also includes a free 90-day trial of AcuraLink Connect services, which adds some ownership convenience early on.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the vehicle has been maintained well enough to preserve its comfort and electronics.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Acura MDX?

At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the MDX is a luxury SUV with a lot of equipment, condition matters not just for appearance but also for how well the cabin, electronics, and safety systems have held up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec Package adds a more aggressive look with unique exterior details, red leather and black Alcantara seats, an A-Spec steering wheel with paddle shifters, and other visual upgrades. The Technology Package is also important because it adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are not standard.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and a 9-speed automatic. SH-AWD is strongly favored in the expert review because it adds torque-vectoring all-wheel drive and sharper handling, while the Sport Hybrid pairs a 3.0-liter V6 with three electric motors for 321 horsepower and better city fuel economy.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard on all trims and includes the brand’s core driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert require the Technology Package.
• Infotainment: The MDX uses dual screens, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, improved lower-screen graphics and responsiveness, and voice recognition. The system is still criticized for small screens and a confusing layout.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review cites 21 mpg combined for the MDX and notes that the Sport Hybrid returns better city fuel economy.

Which 2019 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2019 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Standard, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the MDX’s core strengths at the lowest price. You still get the V6, AcuraWatch, and the basic luxury-SUV formula, but you miss out on the extra convenience and safety equipment that make the higher trims easier to recommend.
• Technology Package: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which meaningfully improve everyday usability. If you want the most balanced mix of features and value, this is the trim to target.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you care more about style and a sportier presentation. It adds the aggressive exterior treatment, upgraded interior materials, and the required SH-AWD system, making it the most distinctive choice in the lineup.
• Advance Package: This is the trim to consider if you want the most comfort-oriented setup, including the adaptive damping suspension mentioned in the expert review. It suits you best if ride quality and premium feel matter more than price.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert require the Technology Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,354 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,200, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $21,200 sits slightly below last year's $23,125.

That price decline suggests the MDX has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer market than before. If you buy well now, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The MDX’s broad appeal as a practical three-row luxury SUV should help support demand, especially among shoppers who value comfort, space, and a proven nameplate. Still, resale will depend heavily on condition, equipment, and whether the vehicle has been maintained carefully.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX safe?

The 2019 Acura MDX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX trims and covers the brand’s core driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. The Technology Package is still needed for blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so you should pay close attention to trim level if safety tech matters to you.

The review also notes a caveat: the MDX’s IIHS result is limited by merely Acceptable ratings for headlight performance and child safety seat anchor accessibility. Acura’s Jewel Eye LED headlights are praised, and they include automatic high-beam activation, but they do not adapt to curves.

Should I buy a 2019 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 update brings improved interior materials, an A-Spec Package, and transmission changes that address earlier shifting complaints.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,732, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $21,200 average.
• It adds a stronger emphasis on standard advanced safety features and a more spacious-feeling family focus.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and inventory is healthy. If you can spend more for a newer model year, the 2020 is worth a look for buyers who want to pay up for a slightly fresher take.

How does the 2019 Acura MDX compare to the 2019 Honda Pilot?

Our experts score the 2019 Acura MDX 8/10 and the 2019 Honda Pilot 8.3/10.

The MDX is the more upscale choice, with a luxury badge, stronger horsepower, and a more premium presentation. The Pilot counters with a lower average used price, more listings, and a slightly better deal share, which makes it the easier value play.

If you want the more refined-feeling SUV and are willing to pay a bit more for it, the MDX makes sense. If your priority is maximizing space and value, the Pilot is the stronger bargain.
