Used 2018 Lexus RX for Sale nearHarrisburg, PA

How much does the 2018 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 3.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,411 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Lexus RX earns a 4.64/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the smooth and comfortable ride, the spacious interior, and the luxurious features. The review summary also points to reliability and low maintenance costs, while the RX’s family-focused three-row layout gives it added practicality for shoppers who want upscale comfort with extra seating.

That said, the same feedback notes that the technology can feel outdated, so you should weigh comfort and refinement more heavily than modern infotainment features. With 39.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, low maintenance costs, and a generally trouble-free ownership experience, which are all encouraging signs if you want a used luxury crossover you can count on. The expert evaluation also describes the engine and transmission as smooth and responsive, with no issues in how the transmission handles its responsibilities.

The ownership risk to watch is that a used example may have higher running costs if it has been poorly maintained, so service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Lexus RX?

At 59.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and interior condition. Because this model’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and refinement, pay close attention to how well the cabin, seats, and electronics have held up. If you are considering a higher-mileage example, service records matter even more.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim already includes auto LED headlights and high beams, LED fog lights and running lights, leather upholstery, keyless ignition and entry, tri-zone automatic climate control, an 8-way power driver’s seat, an 8-inch display, and a safety suite. Higher packages add roof rails, a sunroof, auto-dimming mirrors, auto wipers, memory settings, wood trim, upgraded audio, and more luxury touches.
• Powertrain: It uses a 3.5-liter V6 with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard setup is smooth and responsive, and the hybrid option adds two electric motors for stronger efficiency and all-wheel-drive capability.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ is standard, with adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and intervention, and forward-collision warning and intervention with auto braking. Blind-spot monitoring is not standard.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses an 8-inch display and the Remote Touch interface. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are not available, and built-in navigation can add significant cost.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard setup is rated at 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined. The hybrid is rated at 31 city, 28 highway, and 30 combined mpg.

Which 2018 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2018 Lexus RX is offered in 2 trim levels: RX 350L and RX 450hL.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350L: This is the standard gas model and the best fit if you want the core three-row RX experience without stepping into the hybrid. It includes the main luxury and safety equipment, but the third row is tight and access is awkward, so it makes the most sense if you value Lexus comfort more than maximum passenger space.
• RX 450hL: This is the hybrid choice if you want stronger fuel economy and standard all-wheel drive. It also comes with the second-row captain’s chairs as standard, which may suit you better if you want a more upscale family setup.

The standard Lexus Safety System+ is a strong starting point, but blind-spot monitoring is not standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,411 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,622, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $26,435 sits slightly below last year's $27,379.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and service history than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still attract interest because the RX remains a desirable luxury crossover.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Lexus RX safe?

The 2018 Lexus RX earns a Top Safety Pick+ title from the IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in all tests other than side crash categories where it scored five-star ratings across the board.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard Lexus Safety System+ includes adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning and intervention, and forward-collision warning and intervention with auto braking. Blind-spot monitoring is not standard, which is a notable omission for a luxury SUV at this price point.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a three-row layout, which gives it a more family-focused role than the standard two-row RX.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $23,711, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $26,435 average.
• It adds broader F Sport availability and standard Safety System + Package inclusion.

The bottom line: If you want the three-row RX layout and can live with its tighter third-row packaging, the 2018 is the better fit. If your priority is lower purchase price and you do not need the extra seating, the 2017 is the more budget-friendly path.
