At 54.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. Focus on overall condition, repair quality, and how well the cabin and features have been maintained, since those details matter a lot on a comfort-oriented luxury sedan.

What is the 2018 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $22,283 sits slightly below last year's $23,162.

That softer pricing suggests the model is still accessible on the used market, which can help you buy at a reasonable entry point. For future resale, the combination of strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal should help support demand, especially if you keep the car in clean condition and maintain service records. A well-kept example should remain easier to move than one with accident history or visible wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• At 54.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.80% compared with last year.
