Summary
With 97 currently listed for sale near Colorado Springs, CO and an average price of $20,891.00, 21.6% of 2018 Dodge Durangos for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Dodge Durango 4.67 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2018 Dodge Durango stands out as a family-sized SUV with a performance edge. A new SRT trim gives it a more athletic personality, and the added 475 hp makes this three-row crossover feel especially serious about speed. That combination is unusual in a vehicle aimed at hauling people and cargo, which is a big part of what makes this Durango distinctive.
It also gained a more modern tech setup for the year. Standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay arrive on the Durango, along with a standard reversing camera and a new 7-inch touchscreen. Those updates make the 2018 model easier to live with day to day, especially for buyers who want a practical SUV that still feels up to date inside.
At the same time, the Durango’s appeal is not just about equipment. The owner feedback points to a spacious interior, strong performance, and family-friendly usefulness, while also noting that some lower trims can feel basic and that purchase costs may be high. That balance helps define the 2018 Dodge Durango: it is a roomy, capable SUV that tries to blend everyday utility with a more muscular character than many rivals.

I LOVE everything about this suv. I needed something with 3 rows because kids, but I didn’t want to settle for a “mom” van. The dvd entertainment is amazing, especially for the kids. I can drive peacefully and even have actual conversations with my husband instead of getting interrupted by my kids 5 times in a minute, because they’re busy watching movies. The heated seats and steering wheel is another plus. It’s drives amazing. I am seriously in love with my Dodge Durango r/t. I wouldn’t change a thing about it

Is the 2018 Dodge Durango reliable?

The expert evaluation reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Durango as a capable, well-rounded SUV with strong towing and powertrain choices. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well, especially if it has seen hard use or heavy towing.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Dodge Durango?
At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the SUV has higher mileage or signs of heavy family or towing use. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment level matches what you expect from the trim you’re considering.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Base versions start with a 7-inch touchscreen, reversing camera, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, while lower trims can still feel basic compared with better-equipped versions.
- Powertrain: The lineup includes a 293-hp V6, a 5.7-liter V8, and a 475-hp V8; the V6 returns 19 mpg city and 26 highway, while the 5.7-liter V8 returns 14 mpg city and 22 highway.
- Safety package: The Technology package adds adaptive cruise with auto braking and brake assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path alert, full-speed forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning.
- Infotainment: A standard 7-inch touchscreen comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the system is described as responsive.
- Fuel efficiency: The V6 is rated at 19 mpg city and 26 highway, while the 5.7-liter V8 returns 14 mpg city and 22 highway; the 6.4-liter V8 returns 13 mpg city and 19 highway.
Which 2018 Dodge Durango trim should I buy?
The 2018 Dodge Durango is offered in 6 trim levels: SXT, SXT Plus, GT, Citadel, R/T, SRT.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The SXT gives you strong value with 7-passenger seating, a 293-hp V6, and a 6,200-pound tow rating, but it is still the most basic starting point.
- Sweet-spot trim: The GT adds a power liftgate, remote start, leather upholstery, heated front and second-row seats, a heated steering wheel, and rear parking sensors, making it the best balance of comfort and equipment.
- Premium/top trim: The Citadel adds more upscale leather, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a 9-speaker stereo with HD Radio and a subwoofer, and available front-seat ventilation.
- Off-road trim: The R/T brings a sport suspension and stronger V8 performance, but its firmer ride may be less appealing for typical daily driving.
The Technology package is available on higher trims, but some advanced safety systems are not automatically included.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Dodge Durango?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,695 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.85% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $17,854.02, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Dodge Durango's resale value?
The current average of $17,842 sits slightly below last year's $20,014.
That price decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to keep the SUV for several years. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.
Because the Durango still draws interest from shoppers who want space, towing ability, and strong performance, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2018 Dodge Durango safe?
It earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side impacts, and independent evaluations gave it top ratings in all tests.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
The Durango includes four-wheel antilock discs, stability control, traction control, trailer sway control, and a full suite of airbags. The available Technology package adds adaptive cruise with auto braking and brake assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path alert, full-speed forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning.
One caveat is that some of the more advanced safety systems are not standard on every trim, so you may need to step up or add packages to get the full suite. The expert review also notes that braking distance could be better.
Should I buy a 2018 Dodge Durango or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.85% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- This year adds a 475-hp SRT trim plus standard Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a reversing camera.
Consider the 2017 if:
- At $14,854, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $17,842 average.
- It emphasizes family hauling and towing with a rugged, function-first character.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger tech update and the more performance-focused 2018 lineup, this is the better pick. If your priority is spending less up front and you can live with an older setup, the 2017 is the more budget-friendly path.
