How much does the 2018 Toyota Highlander cost?

Prices have softened 5.83% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,858 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2018 Toyota Highlander a good car?

Yes — the 4.57/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and smooth ride, and many also like its family-friendly features and useful power. In practical terms, that lines up well with the Highlander’s role as a comfortable, practical midsize SUV for commuting, errands, and kid duty. With 34.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find attractive pricing.

Is the 2018 Toyota Highlander reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly highlights reliability, and the overall owner summary also points to a trouble-free, dependable ownership experience. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for daily driving and family use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about the condition of the specific vehicle you choose.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota Highlander?

At 62.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the listing has any accident history. Focus closely on body condition, repair quality, and signs of uneven wear, since those details can reveal how well the vehicle was repaired and maintained. If you’re comparing multiple listings, give extra weight to the cleanest example rather than the cheapest one.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Highlander?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,858 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.83% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,246, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $21,510 sits slightly below last year's $22,841.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, a softer market means condition, mileage, and documentation matter even more because buyers have more options. A well-kept example should still hold appeal thanks to the model’s strong reputation and broad family usefulness.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $20,030, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $21,510 average.
• It adds a refreshed look and standard safety equipment.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2018 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Highlander’s core comfort and family usefulness.
