At 52.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. Focus on overall condition, service records, and signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership costs.

What is the 2018 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $17,398 sits slightly below last year's $18,167.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the car more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and documentation than on broad market momentum alone. Well-kept examples should still hold appeal because shoppers continue to respond to the car’s premium feel and sporty character.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.92/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.92/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want a well-liked, premium-feeling 4 Series and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
