What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Honda Odyssey?

At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from ones with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, interior wear, and any signs of cosmetic or structural repair. Because this model is often used as a family vehicle, condition can vary a lot from one listing to the next.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Odyssey?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it pays to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the best ones.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,934 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,037, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $15,541 sits slightly below last year's $16,942.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and mileage will matter even more because buyers will have plenty of comparable listings to choose from. A well-kept example should still hold appeal thanks to steady family-vehicle demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

• At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,846, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,541 average.
• It emphasizes comfort, features, and flexibility for busy households.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $19,374, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $15,541 average.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best all-around choice if you want a well-liked, well-priced family van with strong owner satisfaction. If your budget is tighter, the 2016 is the value play; if you want a newer-feeling upgrade and can spend more, the 2018 is the better step up.
