Is the 2017 Ford Fusion a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, comfort, and solid performance, and many also like the available features for the price. In practical terms, that makes it a good fit if you want a midsize sedan with a polished feel, useful space, and a more engaging drive than many rivals. With 28.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Ford Fusion reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers describing the car as smooth, comfortable, and solid over time. The strongest praise centers on how well it holds up as a daily driver, especially when you value a composed ride and a feature-rich cabin. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car has been maintained well, since condition can vary widely from one listing to the next.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Ford Fusion?

At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you commit. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, paint consistency, tires, brakes, and interior wear so you can judge how the car was treated. Because this model year has a broad mix of trims and equipment, you should also focus on whether the features you want are working properly and match the listing description.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford Fusion?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,765 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.46% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,114, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $10,322 sits slightly below last year's $11,035.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can limit how much you recover later if you sell soon. On the other hand, the lower entry price can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you keep the car in strong condition and choose a well-equipped example, you improve your odds of holding value better than a neglected or accident-damaged listing.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $11,387, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $10,322 average.
• It offers a broader lineup with more variety, including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, luxury, and sport-oriented choices.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the lower average price and strong owner satisfaction. If you can stretch your budget and want more lineup variety, the 2018 is the better secondary path for shoppers who value choice over savings.
