Is the 2016 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for its smooth driving manners, strong performance, and comfortable day-to-day use. The recurring positives suggest you can count on it for regular family duty if you choose carefully. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the overall reputation and more about finding a well-maintained example with solid tire and condition history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 GMC Yukon?

At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from ones with prior damage. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to tires, body condition, and signs of uneven wear or repair. Because this model is often bought for family use and long trips, you want to focus on overall condition and maintenance quality, not just mileage or trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,428 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.79% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,382, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $19,382 sits slightly below last year's $21,250.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you can reduce the impact of further depreciation. The Yukon’s broad appeal as a spacious, well-equipped SUV should help support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a practical family hauler.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.79% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the Yukon’s roomy cabin, strong owner satisfaction, and a market that has become more favorable on price. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a similar configuration offers a better deal, but the 2016 remains a compelling pick when you find a clean, well-priced example.
