Used 2022 GMC Yukon for Sale nearSaint Paul, MN

How much does the 2022 GMC Yukon cost?

Prices have softened 12.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,661 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon a good car?

Yes — the 2022 GMC Yukon earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Technology, and Safety.

The Yukon’s appeal comes from its full-size SUV packaging, upscale “Professional Grade” positioning, and a cabin that emphasizes space and premium presentation. It also brings multiple powertrain choices, a powerful engine, and plenty of cargo room, which makes it a strong fit if you want a large SUV that feels more upscale than a basic utility vehicle.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and poor value for money are the main knocks. Even so, the market still shows 37.6% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Yukon’s redesign brought meaningful gains in passenger space, cargo space, ride quality, and technology, and the expert test-drive notes point to a smooth, quiet ride over most surfaces. The available diesel also stands out for its efficiency and long-range capability, and GM backs that engine with a five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Yukon’s size, complexity, and fuel appetite can make upkeep and operating costs more demanding than you may expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 GMC Yukon?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any specific vehicle, because accident-free listings are common but not guaranteed. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the suspension, brakes, electronics, and any signs of heavy towing or off-road use. Focus on overall condition, since a large SUV like this can hide wear in the cabin, cargo area, and third row.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SLE already has a premium look, but it uses cloth seats, while the other trims move to perforated leather. The AT4 adds unique off-road styling, and the Denali stands out with the most upscale interior treatment and standard second-row captain’s chairs.
• Powertrain: You can choose among a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder. The diesel is the efficiency play, while the 6.2-liter V8 is the strongest gas option.
• Safety package: GMC Pro Safety is standard and includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, following distance indicator, and automatic high-beam headlights. GMC Pro Safety Plus adds lane-change alert with blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist; it is available on SLE and standard on SLT and above.
• Infotainment: The Yukon has a 10.2-inch touchscreen, a 12-inch driver information center, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Built-In, and wireless phone charging on all but the SLE. AT4 and Denali also get three years of connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The V8 models return 16-17 mpg combined, while diesel versions average 22-23 mpg combined. The diesel can also travel up to 648 miles on a tank.

Which 2022 GMC Yukon trim should I buy?

The 2022 GMC Yukon is offered in 4 trim levels: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SLE: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Yukon’s core space, standard safety suite, and premium-looking exterior without pushing the price too high. It’s the trim to consider if you want the Yukon experience at the lowest cost.
• SLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel, perforated leather, and standard GMC Pro Safety Plus. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the one to focus on.
• AT4: This is the off-road-oriented choice, with unique front styling, a skid plate, red recovery hooks, and standard 4WD. It suits you best if you want the Yukon’s capability with a more rugged personality.
• Denali: This is the luxury pick, with the most distinctive interior designs, standard heated and cooled front seats, standard second-row captain’s chairs, and the most premium presentation overall. Choose it if you want the most upscale Yukon.

GMC Pro Safety Plus is available on SLE and standard on SLT and above, so safety equipment improves as you move up the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 GMC Yukon?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,661 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $46,472, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $46,472 sits slightly below last year's $52,932.

That drop suggests the Yukon has already moved through a meaningful part of its depreciation curve, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. For a seller, that also means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability rather than broad market momentum alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 GMC Yukon safe?

The 2022 GMC Yukon earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in side crash protection from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2022 Yukon comes with GMC Pro Safety, which includes automatic emergency braking with front pedestrian detection, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, following distance indicator, and automatic high-beam headlights. GMC Pro Safety Plus adds lane-change alert with blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear park assist, and it is standard on SLT and above.

The main caveat is the three-star rollover result from NHTSA, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2022 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds a standard 12-inch driver information center and enhanced connectivity.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,608, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $46,472 average.
• It delivers meaningful gains in space, ride quality, and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall shopping mix, the 2022 is the better target because it combines a lower average price than last year with solid inventory and strong owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the value play, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
