What is the 2016 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $8,807 sits slightly below last year's $9,375.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can limit near-term resale upside if you plan to sell soon. On the other hand, the current discount may help you buy at a more favorable entry point, which can improve your ownership math over time.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,380, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $8,807 average.
• It emphasizes distinctive styling and strong overall appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2016 is the stronger primary choice because it combines a lower current price trend with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2015 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in clean condition and like its styling-focused appeal.
