Used 2016 BMW X5 for Sale nearBirmingham, AL

How much does the 2016 BMW X5 cost?

Prices have softened 10.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,314 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 BMW X5 a good car?

Yes — the 4.75/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance, luxurious interior, and features, and many say the sporty driving experience is hard to beat. That fits especially well if you want a luxury SUV that still emphasizes driving feel, roomy seating, and generous cargo space. With 37.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 BMW X5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a vehicle that many drivers find dependable in daily use, with praise centered on the overall ownership experience and the confidence that comes from a well-kept example. At the same time, the model’s complexity means condition and maintenance history matter more than they would on a simpler SUV. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a neglected example that turns ownership costs into a bigger burden than the purchase price suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW X5?

At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on higher-mileage or heavily optioned examples where repair costs can climb quickly. Focus on overall condition, service records, and signs of deferred maintenance, since a clean, well-maintained X5 is the safest way to buy this model year.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW X5?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,314 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,709, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $13,711 sits slightly below last year's $15,321.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it carefully, you can help protect value better than a neglected example would. Strong demand for well-reviewed luxury SUVs can support resale, but condition and maintenance history will matter a lot when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,440, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $13,711 average.
• It emphasizes BMW’s sporty, engaging driving character.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the stronger current-market value story and are willing to shop carefully for a clean, well-maintained example. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one with solid history and condition.
