Used 2016 BMW 6 Series for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2016 BMW 6 Series cost?

Prices have softened 3.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 195 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 BMW 6 Series a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2016 BMW 6 Series backs that up with a blend of style, performance, and luxury in a low-slung grand touring package. The overview also highlights a refreshed look, a modernized infotainment setup, and a cabin that feels well appointed, so you get a more contemporary-feeling version of this generation. It is especially appealing if you want a distinctive BMW that prioritizes driving enjoyment and comfort over everyday practicality. With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 BMW 6 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests this is a car that delivers strong performance and comfort, but it also makes clear that ownership is not simple or inexpensive. The 6 Series is described as expensive to maintain, and the back seat is snug even in the Gran Coupe, so long-term ownership risk is less about basic appeal and more about keeping up with higher running costs and choosing a well-kept example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW 6 Series?

At 53.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on condition, maintenance records, and signs of deferred upkeep. Because this model is known for higher ownership costs, you should focus on how well the car has been maintained rather than just how it looks in photos.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW 6 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 195 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,080, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW 6 Series's resale value?

The current average of $20,085 sits slightly below last year's $20,796.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. Because this is a premium grand tourer with a narrower buyer pool, clean presentation and strong service history matter a lot when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW 6 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the updated look and tech, plus a market that has softened enough to make shopping more attractive. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2016 is the better pick when you want the refreshed styling and a more modern cabin feel in this generation.
