Used 2017 BMW 6 Series for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2017 BMW 6 Series cost?

Prices have softened 9.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 144 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 BMW 6 Series a good car?

Yes — 4.9/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the model’s appeal as a style-first luxury performance car. Owners consistently praise the stylish design, strong performance, comfort, and handling, and they often describe it as a blend of sports car and luxury. That makes it a good fit if you want something distinctive and rewarding rather than purely practical. With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 BMW 6 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a car that owners enjoy living with because it feels stylish, powerful, comfortable, and fun to drive. The recurring themes are dependable enjoyment, strong performance, and a premium driving experience that owners feel good about over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about satisfaction and more about the cost and complexity of keeping a luxury performance car in good shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 BMW 6 Series?

At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and pay close attention to any prior collision records, title issues, or repeated repairs. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of wear that could be expensive to correct on a luxury car. Because this model is best suited to buyers who value presence and performance, you should be especially selective about condition and maintenance history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 BMW 6 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 144 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,936, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 BMW 6 Series's resale value?

The current average of $22,148 sits slightly below last year's $24,445.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the range, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it comes time to sell. Demand should remain tied to the car’s style, performance, and luxury appeal, especially among shoppers looking for something distinctive.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 BMW 6 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market softness in this generation. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2017 is the better starting point when you want a distinctive luxury performance car with solid shopper appeal.
