If you find a listing below $14,684, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $14,872 sits slightly below last year's $15,385.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help if you buy at the right number and hold the car for a while. For a future seller, the key will be keeping mileage, condition, and maintenance records in strong shape so the car stands out in a premium segment where buyers expect a lot.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,642, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $14,872 average.
• It offers a strong value-focused, stylish coupe experience.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced choice, the 2016 is the stronger pick because it combines solid owner satisfaction with a softer price trend and decent deal availability. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one with clean history and good maintenance records.
