CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Toyota Tundra
overall

Summary
With 1,093 currently listed for sale and an average price of $23,937, 29.8% of 2015 Toyota Tundras for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Toyota Tundra 4.18 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
56.5% of 2015 Tundra models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Toyota Tundra stands out as a full-size truck with a strong personality, especially in TRD Pro trim. Toyota’s own description of the TRD Pro Series engine emphasizes its lumpy, chuffing, machine-gun exhaust note, and the bright orange Tundra TRD Pro Series is described as tough to ignore thanks to special detailing and paint. That gives the truck a more distinctive presence than many of its rivals, while the TRD Pro suspension upgrades add to its appeal for buyers who want a more specialized, rugged-feeling version of the Tundra.
At the same time, the 2015 Toyota Tundra is not without compromises. It is described as having a thirsty engine and a lack of key safety features, and getting aboard is noted as a challenge. Even so, it remains a worthy alternative to the most popular full-size trucks, and owner feedback reinforces its strengths in power, reliability, and a comfortable ride, along with its usefulness for towing and heavy work. Fuel economy and interior features, however, are recurring weak points.

Reviewed a 2015 Toyota Tundra on Dec 23, 2025
The 2015 Toyota Tundra is an exceptionally solid, dependable truck that prioritizes durability and long-term reliability over flashy trends. The 5.7L V8 is smooth, powerful, and proven, making it excellent for towing, hauling, and everyday driving. The ride is comfortable for a full-size truck, and the interior—especially in higher trims like the 1794 Edition—feels well-built and thoughtfully designed. This truck really shines in build quality and longevity. It’s a great value for anyone who plans to keep their vehicle for many years rather than constantly upgrading. While it doesn’t have the latest infotainment tech or fuel efficiency of newer models, what it offers instead is peace of mind, simplicity, and strength. I would compare it to the Ford F-150 or Ram 1500 of the same era, but the Tundra stands out for reliability and low long-term ownership costs. If you want a truck that just works, this is it.

| Current Average Price | $23,968 |
| Year-Round Low | $22,849 |
| Year-Round High | $24,326 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $24,071 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −0.43% |
Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 1,081 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra a good car?
Generally — the 2015 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.18/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.
Owners consistently praise its power, reliability, and comfortable ride, and many also value it for towing and heavy work. In use-case terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size truck that feels capable for work and still pleasant enough for everyday driving. At the same time, the feedback also points to weaker fuel economy and an interior that may feel dated if you expect modern amenities.
With 29.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra reliable?
Owners rate it 4.18/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback highlights the Tundra’s reliability and dependability, with drivers describing it as a truck they can count on over time. The expert notes also point to dependable long-term ownership, and Toyota includes a free scheduled maintenance program for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is that a truck this capable may have been worked hard, so condition and maintenance history matter.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Tundra?
At 58% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has towing or work-use mileage. Focus on signs of wear in the suspension, brakes, tires, and body, since those areas can reveal how hard the truck has been used. It also helps to compare trim equipment carefully, because some versions leave out useful convenience and safety features.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The TRD Pro trim adds Toyota Racing Development off-roading hardware, including upgraded shocks, a higher ride height, a front skid plate, dual exhaust, and styling enhancements. It also comes on Double Cab or CrewMax versions, and it stands out as the most specialized choice if you want the most rugged-feeling Tundra.
- Powertrain: The Tundra TRD Pro uses a 5.7-liter V8 with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a part-time 4-wheel-drive system with Active Traction Control. It is rated to tow 9,800 pounds and carry a payload of 1,575 pounds.
- Safety package: Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available in some versions but not the TRD Pro. A reversing camera is standard.
- Infotainment: The TRD Pro gets a 7-inch touchscreen, navigation, HD Radio, traffic and weather data services, iTunes song-tagging capability, and a quick-charge USB port. It does not offer the JBL premium audio system found in other versions.
- Fuel efficiency: The Tundra TRD Pro is rated at 13 mpg city and 17 mpg highway, with a 15 mpg combined estimate. A week-long average of 14.5 mpg is also noted.
Which 2015 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?
The 2015 Toyota Tundra is offered in 1 trim level: TRD Pro.
Here's the short version:
TRD Pro: This is the standout choice if you want the most distinctive and most specialized Tundra. It adds Toyota Racing Development off-road hardware, a more aggressive exhaust note, a higher ride height, upgraded shocks, and a front skid plate, so it suits you best if you want a truck with a stronger personality and more rugged capability. It also gets the premium Entune App Suite setup with a 7-inch touchscreen and navigation, but it does not get the JBL premium audio system. Safety-wise, it still lacks Safety Connect, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not included on this trim.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Tundra?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right truck.
- Deal availability: 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $22,849, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Toyota Tundra's resale value?
The current average of $23,968 sits slightly below last year's $24,071.
That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which is helpful if you plan to sell later because it points to predictable pricing rather than a sharp drop. The year’s narrow price range also suggests buyers are still willing to pay consistent money for well-kept examples. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it’s time to resell.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.18/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Toyota Tundra safe?
The 2015 Toyota Tundra earns Good ratings from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Safety Connect services are not available on any Tundra, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available in some versions but not the TRD Pro. A reversing camera is standard, which helps with visibility in a tall truck like this. One caveat is that the IIHS small overlap frontal impact test has not been assessed.
Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 58% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.18/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It stands out for TRD Pro personality, off-road hardware, and strong towing capability.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $22,517, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $23,968 average.
- It feels especially well matched to real truck use.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $25,402, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $23,968 average.
- It adds an upgraded Entune system, a larger gas tank, and an integrated brake controller on upper trims.
The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive version of this truck and value capability over modern efficiency, the 2015 is the right place to start. If your priority is saving money, the 2014 is the better value play, while the 2016 makes sense if you want a few convenience upgrades and are willing to pay more.
