How much does the 2015 Lexus ES cost?

Prices have softened 2.58% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 543 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Lexus ES a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Lexus ES earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

The data points to a luxury sedan that prioritizes refinement, comfort, and a plush cabin over sporty handling. It is described as more engaging to drive than many buyers might expect, but it is still not a sport sedan. That makes it a strong fit if you want quiet, easygoing luxury rather than sharp dynamics.

Trade-offs: it is not especially charismatic in styling, and it is called out as poor value for money.

Good and great deals account for 33.7% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview emphasizes Lexus’s reputation for reliability, and the expert notes reinforce that this is a car built around quality and long-term dependability. The performance write-up also describes the V6 as refined and the driving experience as composed and peaceful, which supports the idea of a car that should feel settled over time.

The cost-effectiveness notes add that owners are expected to spend more than average on owning and maintaining it, so the ownership experience may be dependable but not especially cheap. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying luxury-car running costs for a model that is otherwise built to last.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Lexus ES?

At 47.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had any bodywork or safety-system repairs. Focus on overall condition, service records, and whether the car still feels tight, quiet, and well-kept on the road.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The ES 350 is the standard gas model here, and the content shows that some desirable equipment is not standard even on a well-equipped test car. Look closely at whether the car has the comfort and convenience features you want, since the base setup can leave out several upscale items.
• Powertrain: The ES 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. It is tuned for refinement and a composed ride rather than sporty driving, and real-world fuel economy was described as respectable.
• Safety package: Lexus offers Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with a Pre-Collision System for the ES 350. The standard setup includes a reversing camera, while blind-spot warning, cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and parking sensors were not fitted to the test car.
• Infotainment: Lexus Enform App Suite is part of the tech story, with smartphone-connected functions, voice recognition, and a mouse-style controller. The car also gets the Enform Remote mobile app for remote starting and fuel-status checks.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert reported 22.1 mpg in real-world driving, and the car is described as having an EPA-estimated 24 mpg combined rating.

Which 2015 Lexus ES trim should I buy?

The 2015 Lexus ES is offered in 2 trim levels: ES 300h and ES 350.

Here's the short version:

• ES 300h: This is the hybrid version, and the content says it carries a near-$3,000 premium and is covered separately. If you want the gas model discussed here, this is not the trim to focus on.
• ES 350: This is the main gas model and the best fit if you want the core Lexus ES experience: a plush cabin, strong ride quality, and refined V6 power. It is the trim to target if comfort and quiet luxury matter most.

The safety content notes that Lexus offers Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with a Pre-Collision System for the ES 350, while several other driver-assistance features were not on the test car.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Lexus ES?

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 543 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 47.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,819, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $16,464 sits slightly below last year's $16,900.

That softer pricing trend suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. It also means you may not see dramatic short-term appreciation, so resale value will depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on market momentum alone. Because the car is positioned as a comfort-focused luxury sedan, well-kept examples with strong service history should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Lexus ES safe?

The 2015 Lexus ES earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not yet officially rated it in the provided data.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus offers Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with a Pre-Collision System for the ES 350. The standard safety setup includes a reversing camera, and optional front and rear parking sensors are also mentioned. The test car lacked blind-spot warning, cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning, so you should verify whether a used example has the safety equipment you want.

Should I buy a 2015 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 47.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It blends plush comfort, upscale appointments, and a more engaging drive than many buyers expect.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,291, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $16,464 average.
• It balances comfort-first luxury with responsive handling.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $19,757, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $16,464 average.
• It adds a refreshed look and a quieter, more tech-friendly cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of comfort, refinement, and current-market pricing, the 2015 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 can save you money while keeping the same basic appeal. If you want a newer-feeling cabin and are willing to pay more, the 2016 is the upgrade path.
