Summary
With 147 currently listed for sale near Chicago, IL and an average price of $12,076.00, 26.5% of 2015 Honda Civics for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Honda Civic 4.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.67 / 10.
82.3% of 2015 Civic models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Honda Civic stands out as a compact economy car that delivers the basics buyers want with unusual ease. It is described as meeting and exceeding small-car preferences for reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, quality, and value, which makes it appealing to shoppers who want a straightforward used car that feels well-rounded rather than compromised.
What also helps the 2015 Civic’s appeal is how broadly it fits everyday use. Owner feedback echoes the same strengths, especially reliability, fuel efficiency, and a user-friendly design, while also pointing to a smooth ride and a spacious interior that suit commuters and first-time buyers. The main tradeoff is that some drivers find it lacking in power and missing features compared with newer models, so it is best viewed as a practical, value-focused choice rather than an especially exciting one.

The 2015 civic is a great value and great first car for a student or a commuter. It has great road feel, spunky power response, and good features. The visibility with the A-pillars is great thanks to the extra window. It will typically cost more vs. other competitors in the same class, but once you drive it you will understand why. I drove a Hyundai Elantra, which has almost all the same feature offerings in terms of technology and safety. For me, the Civic feels lighter, more powerful, more responsive.

How much does the 2015 Honda Civic cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $12,183 |
| Year-Round Low | $11,431.89 |
| Year-Round High | $12,261.17 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $12,102 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +0.67% |
Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 2,170 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare across trims and conditions.
If you find a listing below $11,431.89, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and user-friendly design, and they also highlight its smooth ride and spacious interior. That lines up well with the overview’s focus on a practical compact car that works especially well for commuters and first-time buyers. With 27.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the expert review also emphasizes dependability and value over time. The car’s refined powertrain and cost-conscious ownership profile reinforce that impression, including 3 years or 36,000 miles of free roadside assistance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the Civic’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by age or mileage.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Civic?
At 47% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in a collision or shows uneven wear. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and how the cabin and controls have aged, since some examples may show more use than others. It also helps to compare trims carefully, because equipment differences can be significant.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Base LX trims are the most affordable, while higher trims add features such as the touchscreen infotainment system, HondaLink connectivity, automatic climate control, LaneWatch technology, push-button engine start, a power sunroof, automatic headlights, and aluminum wheels.
- Powertrain: Most versions use a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with 143 hp and a CVT, and the setup is tuned for smooth, easy merging and relaxed everyday driving rather than quick acceleration.
- Safety package: The Civic includes a standard reversing camera, and LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims.
- Infotainment: Every Civic has Bluetooth calling and text messaging, and trims above LX add a 7-inch touchscreen with HondaLink smartphone connectivity and services.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA states 33 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 31.9 mpg.
Which 2015 Honda Civic trim should I buy?
The 2015 Honda Civic is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, SE, EX Sedan, and Civic Si.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and the core Civic experience. It gives you the basics, including Bluetooth calling and text messaging, while keeping the purchase simple and affordable.
- SE: This trim sits above the LX and is worth a look if you want a little more equipment without jumping too far up the ladder. It also avoids some of the feature gaps of the base model while staying focused on everyday usability.
- EX Sedan: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 7-inch touchscreen, HondaLink connectivity, automatic climate control, LaneWatch, push-button start, a power sunroof, automatic headlights, and nicer wheels. It strikes the best balance of comfort, tech, and everyday appeal.
- Civic Si: Choose this if you want the sportiest version and care more about driving enjoyment than pure value. It is the performance-tuned model in the lineup.
LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Civic?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.
- Deal availability: 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,170 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 47.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,431.89, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Honda Civic's resale value?
The current average of $12,183 sits slightly above last year's $12,102.
That kind of stability suggests the Civic is holding value rather than swinging sharply up or down. For a future seller, that usually means you are less exposed to sudden depreciation if you buy at a fair price and keep the car in good condition. The model’s broad appeal and steady demand also help support a healthier resale outlook than many small cars.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic safe?
It earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The Civic comes with a standard reversing camera, and HondaLink Assist adds collision-notification capability when paired and activated. LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims, but it is not a traditional blind-spot monitoring system, so you should evaluate whether you like that setup. The main caveat is that the safety tech mix varies by trim, so you should confirm the equipment on the specific car you are considering.
Should I buy a 2015 Honda Civic or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 47% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 blends reliability, fuel efficiency, safety, and value in a practical compact package.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $11,260, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,183 average.
- It feels refined and capable, with strong value and a near-luxury sense of quality.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $13,960, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,183 average.
- It brings a more modern, polished, and stylish redesign.
The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price stability, owner satisfaction, and everyday usefulness, the 2015 is the safe default. If you are price-sensitive, the 2014 can save you money while still delivering many of the same core strengths. If you want a newer-feeling Civic and can spend more, the 2016 is the better upgrade path.
