The tradeoffs were part of the X6’s identity. Cargo space was reduced to 20.5 cubic feet behind the seats and 53.9 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, and towing capacity was 6,000 pounds. Fuel economy was also modest, with the xDrive35i rated at 18 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined, while the xDrive50i returned 15 mpg city, 22 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined. Even so, the 2015 X6 appealed to buyers who wanted a luxury SUV with a dramatic shape, strong engines, and a long list of standard and available equipment.
