Test drove one and its comfortable as the Ford Fusion, has the leg space for taller folks in the rear. The trunk space is adequate enough to fit 4 large duffel bags flat + 1 on top of those so if youre planning a trip and have a lot of goodies, you dont need a roof rack to transfer them ( unless you have something more than 4 ft, like fishing rods or tripods etc ). Ride is good and absorbs bumps well. The cars roll isnt hard when turning at speed and it can do 15 to 55 in a great amount of time when you need to accelerate going onto the highway. I would say if youre looking for used, at a great price, dont hesitate to purchase one! Test drive it first a few times to get a feel. And if it fits like a glove, I say go for it!

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 1,449 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare against. If you find a listing below $11,392.75, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2014 Toyota Camry a good car?
Generally — the 2014 Toyota Camry earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal rather than flash. Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and fuel efficiency, and they also call out the spacious trunk and smooth ride. That lines up with the Camry’s practical family-vehicle use case: dependable commuting, everyday errands, and travel with low drama. With 29.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Toyota Camry reliable?
Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also emphasizes reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, along with strong value for money. On the expert side, the Camry is described as cost-effective, dependable transportation with good gas mileage and free scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 25,000 miles of driving. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Camry?
At 46.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition details that affect daily use: ride quality, brake feel, interior wear, and whether the equipment you want is actually present on the trim you’re considering. If you’re shopping a higher-trim car, make sure the added convenience and safety features are working as expected.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Camry lineup ranges from the basic L to the better-equipped LE and XLE, with the SE adding a sportier look and firmer suspension. Base versions are the most stripped down, while higher trims add conveniences like automatic headlights, power features, dual-zone climate control, and more upscale interior touches.
- Powertrain: You can find a 178-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder or an optional 3.5-liter V6. The 4-cylinder is the efficiency play at 28 mpg combined, while the V6 trades some economy for stronger acceleration and returns 25 mpg combined.
- Safety package: Blind-Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are available on the SE, XLE, and XLE Hybrid. Safety Connect is reserved for the XLE and Hybrid XLE, so lower trims miss out on those telematics features.
- Infotainment: The Camry uses the Entune touchscreen system, and higher trims can add Entune Audio Plus, premium audio, app integration, and navigation. The system is straightforward to use, but the tech is more functional than cutting-edge.
- Fuel efficiency: The regular 4-cylinder is rated at 28 mpg combined, the V6 at 25 mpg combined, and the Camry Hybrid is rated at about 40 mpg combined.
Which 2014 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?
The 2014 Toyota Camry is offered in 6 trim levels: L, LE, XLE, SE, Hybrid LE, Hybrid XLE.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The L is the most bare-bones choice, with very limited upgrades and the fewest convenience features. If you want the essentials only, it gets you there, but you give up a lot of the comfort and tech that make the Camry easier to live with.
- Sweet-spot trim: The LE is the best value for most shoppers because it adds a nicer grille, automatic headlights, remote keyless entry, and available upgrades like a power driver’s seat, upgraded infotainment, and a sunroof.
- Premium/top trim: The XLE is the most comfortable gas-powered choice, with fog lights, chrome trim, 17-inch wheels, faux wood interior accents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated mirrors, dual-zone climate control, and Entune Audio Plus.
- Off-road trim: The SE is the one to skip if you want the softest ride, because its sport suspension is firmer and more bump-sensitive than the other trims.
Safety Connect is available only on the XLE and Hybrid XLE, while Blind-Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are available on the SE, XLE, and XLE Hybrid.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Camry?
This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.
- Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,449 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 46.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,392.75, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Toyota Camry's resale value?
The current average of $11,838 sits slightly above last year's $11,736.
That small increase suggests the Camry is holding value rather than sliding sharply, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand from shoppers who want a practical midsize sedan with a strong reputation. Because the market has not moved dramatically, a clean, well-maintained example should remain easier to position competitively than a car with visible wear or a questionable history.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2014 Toyota Camry safe?
It is a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS for models built after December 2013, and it earns five-star ratings from NHTSA.
It earns a 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Toyota’s Safety Connect telematics system includes Roadside Assistance, SOS Emergency Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, and a Stolen-Vehicle Locator. Blind-Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are available on the SE, XLE, and XLE Hybrid, while Safety Connect is limited to the XLE and Hybrid XLE. One important caveat is that examples built before January 2014 were rated Poor in the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact test, so build date matters a lot here.
Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 46.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2014.5 update improves safety ratings for later-built cars.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $13,026, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,838 average.
- It adds more stylish styling and a refined interior.
The bottom line: if you want the better value, the 2014 is the smarter starting point because pricing is stable and inventory is broad. If you’re willing to pay more for newer styling and added refinement, the 2015 is the cleaner upgrade path, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2014 and verify build date carefully.
