CarGurus Analysis: 2014 Porsche 911

Summary
With 346 currently listed for sale and an average price of $113,027.00, 30.9% of 2014 Porsche 911s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Porsche 911 4.42 / 5 stars.
80.3% of 2014 Porsche 911 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2014 Porsche 911 stands out because it sits in the seventh generation, a period when Porsche had already blended the car’s classic shape with modern performance and usability. This generation is identified by a thin bar running between the taillights, and it also marked a shift from hydraulic to electric power steering, which the source says reduced some of the steering feedback that racers and drivers use to judge front tire traction. Even so, the 911 remained a car that could deliver serious performance while still feeling usable for everyday driving.
For 2014, the lineup expanded with the addition of the 991 Turbo, Turbo S, and GT3 trims, along with a new Targa and a 50th Anniversary edition. The Turbo used a 3.8-liter engine rated at 520 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque, while the Turbo S increased output to 560 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque; both were paired with the seven-speed PDK gearbox and all-wheel drive. The GT3 took a more track-focused approach with a naturally aspirated engine making 475 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, no rear seats, rear-wheel drive, and a choice of PDK or a six-speed manual. That mix of high-performance variants is a big part of what makes the 2014 911 distinctive: it could be a sharp driver’s car, a more luxurious grand tourer, or a serious track machine depending on the version.
At the same time, the 2014 Porsche 911 was not without compromises. The source notes that the 911 was pricey, had limited passenger and cargo space, and could be expensive to maintain. Still, it held its value well, and the 991 generation was described as relatively trouble-free, with minor recalls that were addressed quickly. For buyers, that combination of iconic styling, strong performance, and enduring desirability is what makes the 2014 911 especially appealing.

The car is a significant upgrade from my 997.1. The car is quick, and I love the sound from the engine. First PDK, but love it. The best balance of performance and convenience. The styling is phenomenal. Great value for the overall car. Love it!!

Purchased a 2014 911 Carrera coupe from a private seller off of Cargurus. It’s an amazing piece of machinery and purchase price was extremely reasonable for what was originally a 100k car. Love the manual transmission although I don’t really ever use 7th gear so in my opinion the extra gear isn’t really necessary. Overall it’s the best driving, sounding and looking car I have ever owned!

This car is spectacular. I currently own a similar 2012 model and the 2014 includes several small but noticeable improvements. Cant go wrong with it.

How much does the 2014 Porsche 911 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $112,092 |
| Year-Round Low | $99,937.08 |
| Year-Round High | $116,895.12 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $100,505 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +11.53% |
Prices are up 11.53% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 350 listings available, which gives you some room to compare condition, mileage, and equipment.
If you find a listing below $99,937.08, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2014 Porsche 911 a good car?
Generally — the 2014 Porsche 911 earns a 4.42/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the outstanding power and performance, and they also highlight the impressive driving dynamics and engine sound. For you, that means this model fits best if you want a sports car that still works as an everyday driver, even if you value usability alongside serious performance. With 27.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2014 Porsche 911 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.42/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to reliability and a trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the car’s dependable feel and strong long-term appeal. That said, you should still expect a used performance car to reward careful maintenance history and thorough pre-purchase checks. For a buyer, the main long-term risk is not whether the car is desirable, but whether prior upkeep has been consistent enough to keep ownership costs under control.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Porsche 911?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a pre-purchase inspection that checks for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. Pay close attention to overall condition, since owner feedback mentions concerns about interior cleanliness and a few transmission issues. Because this is a high-performance car, you’ll want to judge the specific example in front of you more than the badge alone.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Porsche 911?
This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.
- Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 350 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 11.53% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 81.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $99,937.08, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Porsche 911's resale value?
The current average of $112,092 sits slightly above last year's $100,505.
That price increase suggests the market continues to reward this model year’s desirability, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the car in good condition. The 911’s strong performance reputation and enduring appeal make it easier to attract future buyers than many other used sports cars. If you maintain it carefully and keep records, you improve your odds of preserving value when it’s time to sell.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.42/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2014 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices are up 11.53% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.42/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
The bottom line:
If you want a 911 with strong owner satisfaction, solid accident-free inventory, and a market that still supports demand, the 2014 is a compelling choice. If your priority is stretching your budget, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the listings that land closest to the low end of the price range, especially if they come with clean history and strong maintenance records.
