How much does the 2014 Lexus ES cost?

Prices are up 2.85% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 477 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2014 Lexus ES a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.8/5 owner-rated car with an 8.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious feel, comfort, quality performance, stylish design, and smooth ride. That lines up with the overview: this ES is aimed at you if you want a calm, refined daily driver that still feels composed on the road.

The main trade-offs are that some shoppers may want more advanced safety technology for the price, and the rear seat does not fold down. Even so, 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2014 Lexus ES reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with buyers repeatedly calling out the car’s long-term appeal. The expert summary reinforces that reputation by emphasizing Lexus’s reliability and affordability of parts, while the cost-effectiveness commentary says comfort and reliability will always be there.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core drivetrain and more about finding a well-kept example with the right maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Lexus ES?

At 47.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any signs of prior bodywork or electrical issues. Focus on overall condition, because the strongest examples are likely to be the ones that best preserve the ES’s comfort and refinement.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base version has a class-leading 10 airbags, while option packages can add lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera.
• Powertrain: The ES 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 268 horsepower and 248 pound feet of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic and drive modes that include Eco and Sport.
• Safety package: Available driver-assistance features include lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera, with the base version still getting 10 airbags.
• Infotainment: Lexus uses the Remote Touch controller with an LCD screen and force-feedback cursor; the system is intuitive, but there is no redundant touchscreen capability.
• Fuel efficiency: The ES 350 is advertised at 21 mpg city and 31 highway, with Eco mode tuned to help you reach those figures.

Which 2014 Lexus ES trim should I buy?

The 2014 Lexus ES is offered in 1 trim level: ES 350.

Here's the short version:

The ES 350 is the trim to focus on if you want the core Lexus ES experience: a comfortable cabin, strong ride quality, and a well-rounded luxury-sedan feel without overcomplicating the buying decision. It also delivers the best value by giving you the model’s main strengths without requiring you to chase a higher trim for the essentials.

The base setup already gives you a lot to like, including the 3.5-liter V6, the smooth 6-speed automatic, and the comfort-first tuning that defines the car. If you want more convenience and safety tech, look for option packages that add lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera.

The base version’s 10 airbags are a notable safety strength, even before you add optional driver-assistance equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Lexus ES?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 477 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.85% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 47.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,420, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Lexus ES's resale value?

The current average of $15,291 sits slightly above last year's $14,867.

That upward move suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. A stable-to-rising price trend can help support your resale position, especially if you buy a clean example at the right price.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Lexus ES safe?

The 2014 Lexus ES earns a seven-star protection rating from NHTSA and a Good rating from IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety package can include lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a backup camera, and the base version comes with 10 airbags. One caveat is the backup camera behavior: startup messages can block part of the image right when you may need it most.

Should I buy a 2014 Lexus ES or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 47.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.85% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 combines a comfortable ride with responsive handling, making it a calm but composed daily driver.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $16,464, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $15,291 average.
• It adds a more engaging driving feel while keeping the same comfort-first luxury mission.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the smarter buy because it delivers the core Lexus ES strengths at a lower average price. If you’re willing to spend more for a slightly more engaging drive, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
