At 53.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should also focus on interior condition, since owners mention scratches and dirt as common concerns.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2014 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $7,238 sits slightly below last year's $7,626.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. A lower entry cost can make it easier to hold value relative to what you paid, especially if you choose a clean, well-kept example. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $7,486, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $7,238 average.
• It adds a more mainstream value feel with generous space and useful features.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2014 if you want the lower average price and a strong owner-satisfaction signal. If you can stretch a bit more and want a newer-feeling alternative, the 2015 is the better secondary path for shoppers focused on value and everyday usability.
