How much does the 2014 Dodge Charger cost?

There are 583 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Dodge Charger earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its strong engine, smooth ride, and fun-to-drive character, while also calling out the sunroof, heated seats, and Beats audio as standout everyday features. The overview frames it as a practical four-door with a bold, retro-inspired look, so you get muscle-car style without giving up sedan usefulness. With 23.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels strong, smooth, and enjoyable to live with over time, with repeated praise for its engine and driving character. The expert notes also describe the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 as an award-winning powerplant, which reinforces the sense that the Charger’s core mechanical setup is built to be counted on. The available maintenance and ownership-friendly features add to that impression, especially if you want a used sedan that feels substantial rather than fragile.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that fuel costs and wear items may be less forgiving than in a smaller sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Dodge Charger?

At 46.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the car’s equipment still works as intended, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been kept. If you are comparing examples, pay close attention to how the car presents inside and out, because the Charger’s value is tied closely to its overall condition and feature set.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE includes 164 standard LED taillights, a power 6-way driver’s seat, remote keyless entry, three power accessory outlets, and a USB audio auxiliary jack. The SXT adds more equipment and was the test trim, while the R/T and SRT bring V8 power and higher starting prices.
• Powertrain: The base V6 is paired with an 8-speed automatic in the test vehicle and is described as surprisingly quick, with 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. Rear-wheel-drive versions are also available with a 5-speed automatic, and the V8 trims add much more power.
• Safety package: The Charger offers lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, and a backup camera with a large, crisp display. The backup system can also include rear cross-path warning, and these features are described as available rather than universal.
• Infotainment: The available Uconnect system is presented as easy to use, and the car can connect to a smartphone’s music library via Bluetooth. The text does not specify a screen size or wireless smartphone integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The base rear-wheel-drive V6 returns 18 mpg city and 27 highway with the 5-speed automatic, while V6 models with the 8-speed automatic achieve 19/31. The all-wheel-drive SXT with the 8-speed automatic is estimated at 18/27.

Which 2014 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2014 Dodge Charger is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SXT, R/T, SRT.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the least expensive way into the Charger and still gives you the car’s signature look, including the 164 LED taillights, plus a power 6-way driver’s seat, remote keyless entry, three power outlets, and a USB audio auxiliary jack. It makes sense if you want the style and basic equipment without stretching for more power.
• SXT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the more complete test-trim experience while keeping the V6’s quick performance and everyday usability. If you want the Charger’s personality without jumping to V8 pricing, this is the trim to target.
• R/T: This trim is for you if you want the 5.7-liter V8 and a much stronger performance focus. It brings a big jump in power, but the tradeoff is higher fuel use.
• SRT: This is the top performance choice, with the 6.4-liter V8 and the highest starting price. It suits you if outright power matters more than value.

The safety content highlights available lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, and a backup camera with rear cross-path warning.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Dodge Charger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 23.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 583 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 46.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,219, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $10,468 sits slightly below last year's $11,123.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may depend more on condition than on market momentum. If you plan to sell later, a clean history and strong maintenance records should matter a lot, because buyers will likely favor the best-kept examples. The Charger’s distinctive styling and enthusiast appeal can help support demand, especially for well-preserved cars.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Dodge Charger safe?

The Charger earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes with standard airbags and traction control, and the available safety tech includes lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, and a backup camera. The backup camera is described as especially crisp, and rear cross-path warning can add confidence when backing out of tight spaces. One caveat is that the forward warning system can be oversensitive, so you may need to tune out occasional false alerts.

Should I buy a 2014 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 23.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 combines retro styling with a more sophisticated driving character than its appearance suggests.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,569, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $10,468 average.
• It brings a sleeker front and brighter rear end for a more aggressive look.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the smarter buy because it offers strong satisfaction, a lower average price, and plenty of inventory to compare. If you care more about updated styling and are willing to pay more, the 2015 is the better alternative.

How does the 2014 Dodge Charger compare to the 2014 Chevrolet Impala?

Our experts score the 2014 Dodge Charger 8.3/10 and the 2014 Chevrolet Impala 7.8/10. The Charger is the more performance-focused choice, with stronger engine output and a more distinctive personality. The Impala counters with better fuel economy and a slightly lower average used price, so it may suit you better if efficiency and value matter more than style.
