Is the 2014 Chrysler 300 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to durable mechanicals, dependable performance, and a car that can be trouble-free when it has been maintained well. The 2014 Chrysler 300’s reputation for long-term appeal is tied to its comfortable ride and solid powertrain choices, which many owners feel confident living with over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is buying a neglected example, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Chrysler 300?

At 53% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of inconsistent repairs, since accident history can affect long-term value and ownership confidence. You should also pay close attention to overall maintenance records and interior condition, because a well-kept car is the best indicator of how the rest of the vehicle has been treated.

What is the 2014 Chrysler 300's resale value?

The current average of $10,162 sits slightly below last year's $10,247.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which can help future sellers because it points to predictable pricing rather than sharp depreciation swings. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you should be able to preserve more of its value than you would with a neglected example. The model’s broad appeal as a roomy, comfortable sedan also helps support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Chrysler 300 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2014 is a strong choice if you want the classic Chrysler 300 formula at a stable used price and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker alone.
