Summary
With 234 currently listed for sale and an average price of $15,789, 31.6% of 2014 BMW 6 Series listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2014 BMW 6 Series stands out as a stylish, performance-focused luxury car that blends strong driving dynamics with a distinctly upscale feel. In this generation, BMW offered coupe, convertible, and four-door Gran Coupe body styles, and the car’s appeal was as much about presence as it was about speed. It was also a comfortable car, and its soft styling has aged better than some of BMW’s more controversial designs.
For 2014, BMW did not change much mechanically, but the 6 Series still had plenty to offer. The lineup included the 650i with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 making 445 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque, while the 640i used a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight six with 315 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. The M6 was also part of the range, with 560 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque, and BMW’s Alpina B6 Gran Coupe was available for buyers who wanted an even more exclusive take on the formula. A 2015 visual refresh and a 2016 tech update came later in the generation, but for 2014 the car already offered the core mix of power, luxury, and style that defined this 6 Series.
That said, the 2014 BMW 6 Series was never a simple ownership proposition. It was expensive to buy and maintain, and the back seat was snug even in the Gran Coupe. Still, for buyers who wanted a glamorous grand tourer with serious performance and a premium cabin, it delivered a compelling combination of comfort, exclusivity, and driving enjoyment.

I owned a 2009, but this one rides and handles completely differently. The ride is incredible! You feel like youre riding in a luxury sedan. The Sport and Sport+ modes make thinks a little harsher, but the car still seems to float down the road. The steering, though responsive, doesnt have that planted feel. Even in Sport+ mode. Where this car shines is the motor/transmission. You know that the power is always there right under your foot. The transmission shifts smoothly and always knows the right gear. This is my daily driver, and I drive a lot (`800 miles a week), and I am with this car those miles will just slip away...

Although being a two convertible makes it seem hard to be a family car. However, this model is big enough for a family of three because of roomy interior and head clearance it offers in its class, its a winner.

Picked up the 2014 BMW 640i convertible in Portland OR and drove down the west coast back to Phoenix metro. The car performed great with spirited driving while maintaining 28+ mpg. The car was comfortable driving 6-8 hours per day and offers a number of features / options hard to live without. The twin turbo six cylinder provided great performance with no lag.

It is a great value these days. Just keep in mind the 650 will be costly to maintain the twin turbo v8 while the 640 has decent power and better reliability.

Should I buy a 2014 BMW 6 Series or consider a different year?

Choose the 2014 if:
- 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 55.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 2.48% compared with last year.
