Overview

The 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser is essentially a carryover from the previous model year, but side and side-curtain airbags have been added to the list of standard safety features. The Land Cruiser is a highly evolved SUV, far from its genesis as a WWII Japanese military vehicle. While the full-size SUV is now priced to compete in the luxury market, Toyota has revisited its rugged roots with the release of the new FJ Cruiser.
The 2007 Land Cruiser is available only as one very well-equipped model. This is certainly a departure for Toyota, as a company that aims to meet the needs of all truck and SUV buyers by offering a variety of engine, drive train, trim, and body-style configurations on most of its larger vehicles. The Land Cruiser offers leather trim, heated power front seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, a JBL audio system with an in-dash CD changer, and keyless entry. Options include running boards, a rear reversing camera, Bluetooth, a DVD-based navigation system, and a backseat DVD entertainment system. An adaptive suspension system can also be added, which allows for ride-height and shock adjustment.
The only Land Cruiser engine option is a 4.7-liter V8, which provides the 5,425-pound SUV with 265 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. This V8 is supported by Toyota's Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology and mated to a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. Fuel economy is the Land Cruiser's most significant shortcoming, and it's rated at 13 mpg city, 17 highway.
It's important to note the Land Cruiser does not use the Tundra's V8, which is enhanced by the Dual VVT-i system and allows the full-size truck to pull up to 10,000 pounds. The Land Cruiser has a towing capacity of 6,500 pounds.

New rear shocks, new front linkages, transmission shifts silky smooth, good acceleration. However leather is a bit cracked on the driver seat, rear tailgate handle is rusted and has fallen off, hood hitch is temperamental, rust has gone through the bottom exterior of the right rear quarter panel. Hard to say how far up it goes.

My 2000 Land Cruiser put this model to shame. Good thing though, makes me want to keep my baby, so glad I looked. Mine misses the newer features like hands free phone and Nav system, but my eyes/ears cant handle much more input while driving. I love my Toyo.
