Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I purchased a new 2019 Sentra 10 months ago.  Last week the car wouldn't
start.  I jumped the battery and took it to the dealership.  They thought it might
be parasitic draining and reprogrammed the radio.  Exactly one week later the
car wouldn't start again.  Jumped the battery and took it back to the dealership.
I see others have had this issue.  Is there any news about this problem?

You should have a battery warranty. Document everything in case you need to file a Lemon Law claim. Most stock batteries are cheap junk. If this problem started with cold weather you may need a better battery.

Exactly! Tell them to load test the battery! That should have been the first thing they did!! Hope that helps! Jim

I am having the same issue. First time it happened they stated they needed to do an upgrade on the computer and it should be fixed. Now several months later I am having the same problem. Now they tell me I don't drive the car enough. I only go about 10 miles a day round trip to work but I don't believe thats the issues. I drove to NH and then work car sat for 16 hrs and it wouldn't start after my shift. Back to dealership tomorrow. I was told by someone else theres a sensor in the transmission that is probably the problem. If they can't fix it I'm getting rid of the car and going with a different brand.

It is the Sentra's problem. I used 3 batteries in 3 years. All new, 2 genuine and 1 from Walmart, I used, but it did not last one year. Contact below for legal attention from Nissan. 2019, 2021 Nissan Sentra Battery Drain Investigation Migliaccio & Rathod LLP https://classlawdc.com

Thank you, Raders. I contacted that law firm a year ago and submitted my information for the class action lawsuit. It is definitely Nissan's problem and the corporation is stonewalling. Let's try one more fix and one more fix. . .The issue is a bad break switch. After being stranded 14 times I finally got a break switch that has worked for six months. I have owned Nissan cars for 25+ years but I won't buy another after this one is done.
