My battery died overnight and everything was off in my Mitsubishi diamante. What could've happened to cause that?

something may be staying on that is draining the battery or diodes may be stuck in alternator charge battery and hook up positive terminal then lightly touch ground terminal to ground on battery if you see a good spark something is staying on
