Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1989 dodge b250 with a 5.2 l tbi 318... so I noticed
that the normal ac works fine, but when you press
max it blows for a minute then sounds like its
blowing inside the dash and no air is coming out
till I flip back to normal.. is it blowing the door
shut? Also have to manually switch it from heat to
ac according to previous owner... anybody maybe
have an idea how to fix it before this TX weather
kills me? Maybe a diagram/picture of said doors? I
don't know anything about air conditioners, but I'm
restoring this van and cant put it off.

sounds like an actuator door is not working , AC max is just normal AC that draws air from inside the cabin instead of outside air , looks like you'll be taking that dash apart for the restoration anyways

Seeing as I dont have defrost or floor vents in this conversion van, was a vacuum actuator even installed??? And how to access the doors would be much appreciated. A diagram, something...
