stranded on the interstate. Ford dealership, stated the truck threw a rod. They took engine apart and ordered a new engine block. They called me today and said it was put back together and ready for pick up. Should i demand a new truck or am i ok to go with the replaced engine. Any affect on retail. I know i would be concerned about purchasing a brand new vehicle with a new engine.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I purchased 2018 F150 and 400 miles later truck breaks down.  Towed vehicle
to the dealership and i was told the rod broke (threw a rod) and most likely a
bad cylinder. They broke down engine and ordered another engine block.
Should i demand a new replacement?  Should i be concerned with value of
truck with replaced engine?   I have know knowledge of dealership's
technicians abilities.  I feel more comfortable with truck coming straight from
manufacturer.

You can demand a new truck but they won't give you one. If this happens again you might get a Lemon car buy back. I doubt it will devalue the truck and there is no way to prove this to Ford anyway. Which engine was this? Good luck!
