how to open the liftgate when the battery is dead?
I want to open the liftgate manually to take the 120 v convenience cord out for charging,
because no power in the battery. Please tell me how to open the liftgate?
There should be a button tucked around licence plate to release it,your door,s will have to be unlocked for it to work, and this is not in any manual.
Thanks a lot! I have tried to do it, but does not work.
Ford should have put a manual release on them ,but there so smart thinking electric, they didnt think about it may run out of juice. It is new go tell them the issue and let the monkeys scratch there head,s on this.
This will be a Ford recall before long.
At the least tell ford to bring you a cord to charge the car, sorry but that is all i can tell you at this time, but dont stop at this, because it will happen again.
Since this is a brand new vehicle I'd contact your Local Ford Dealer and let them deal with it, for free, under warranty. HTH. -Jim
I have successfully taken the cord out from the backseat. Thanks!
Xipingini, thanks for letting us know how you solved your problem, this will help more people that will have this issue untill ford fixes there bubu.
Not sure if this will work, but how bout using the KEY?
Thanks Bourne, for being a douchebag, but there is no keyhole.
