Jeep won't start

Asked by Apr 20, 2016 at 02:12 PM about the 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when I turn the key, it just makes a rapid clicking sound. The engine does not
turn over at all. The lights and radio work, so I don't think its the battery.

A dying (but not completely dead) battery will do just this - it has enough juice to engage the starter solenoid or radio and some lights but not enough to turn the engine over. Get a jump start. If you can pull the battery take it to a parts store and let them check it, however if it's low/dead they'll have to keep it for a few hours to charge it before they can test it.

My jeep won't start but the lights and radio still turn on. It doesn't make any time of sounds, any suggestions to what it might be? Shouldn't be the battery because I just bought it last month.
