Car hesitates when accelerating 55 to 65 mph

Bad throttle sensor, fuel delivery problems, spark plugs. Did you check for any codes or do a live data scan?

scan for codes even if the light ain't on . The person at auto zoo sells parts they are not a technician

This happens a lot with cars that aren't well maintained. The leading cause for this is dirty or worn out fuel injectors or maybe a clogged fuel filter. After that, I'd suspect fuel pump problems. Then a faulty MAP/MAF sensor that's misreading air entering the engine..... Just get it fixed and then get a good tune-up.
