Ac in a non av chevy truck

Asked by ronnie Sep 10, 2017 at 11:21 PM about the 1985 Chevrolet C/K 10 Scottsdale RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 85 chevy truck non av and I have a
86 donor truck with all the ac parts.  My
question is.  Can I use those ac parts and
make it work in my 85. The 85 just has the
fan blower on the firewall. Could I take all
the parts from the firewall off the 86 and
make it work.  Thanks.

Yes, you can. It will be a lot of work though. A/C has a lot of parts (compressor, condenser, evaporator, hoses, switches, etc.) You will also have to change the climate controls in the dash. So the answer is yes, just know it will be a lot of work.
