There is no timing belt on the Windstar engine - it is equipped with a timing chain, which requires no routine maintenance. Pasted from: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_reset_timing_belt_on_ford_windstar I am CONFUSED

RockAuto shows one engine and that has a timing chain.

Yep, and I went through 3 pages of Google Parts houses and can not find a belt for sale for a 2002 3.8L Windstar, the only engine available

is there a penalty for overuse of the delete button?

I hope not. I'd be kicked off

you know Honda has proven that a belt will provide a quieter engine!

Honda V8 coming... in 2015

shellg..sorry 'bout all that. We get off the rails sometimes. But I do believe your Windstar has a timing chain.

hey, that's an arial atom's engine...seen that one before...Llregal had it as his avatar for a time!

wonder if anyone makes a belt converter for the chain on a ford winstar?

think about it logically, what is noisier? a coffee can full of rubber bands or a coffee can full of marbles?

What is with Honda working on a 2015 V8 when everyone else is showing diesels and under two liter four's with turbos and superchargers? Many of the manufacturers are going to the noisy direct injection so fuel rail pressures will be around 45K psi and they will sound like diesels.

you save the weight where you can in the expensive engineering racing world~

Good question TS, it's a 3.5-liter V8, generating more than 350 horsepower, already hit some car shows, tentatively will hit showrooms at Dealers in 2015, they haven't even named the model yet

Consumer demand and the almighty dollar

rocketship!

Audi has a interesting V8. Cylinder on demand, noise canceling motor mounts, exhaust exits out the top of the valley into a pair of turbochargers. 400 HP and 28 mpg on the highway. Available today on the S6 and S7.

variable valve position too, no doubt-

At highway speeds, it will drop down to a four cylinder. The valve timing isn't variable. The water pump is. The water pump speed is dependent on the engine temperature. This is the engine that launched a 4000+ pound car to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.

extrordinary! such precision over combustion temperature~
