Subaru recommends H rated tires. Would it hurt the drive train to run T rated
tires? They usually have a longer warranty. For that matter, would it hurt the
car to run V rated tires? I understand the AWD Subarus have sensitive drive
The higher the speed rating, the softer the tire compound and the shorter the tire wear. Tire warranties aren't really meant to cover a tire that wears out too fast; they don't provide a realistic pro-rating, so I wouldn't recommend a V or Z rating. You can run any rating you want; a T, or even an S would do fine if you're just in normal road traffic. If you plan to be anywhere to use the AWD, you might consider a Light Truck tire (LT). Keep the tire diameter close to stock so you won't have to adjust for speed that differs from the speedometer.
It's just a speed rating , how fast do you plan on driving ? With AWD you want the SIZE tire it calls for and evenly worn tread , rotation twice a year maybe , Isn't technology great ? Now you're safe from all the idiots that don't know how to drive .
T rated tires are good to 118 mph. H rated tires are good up to 130 mph.
