Idle hours

Combine the use to see what the total "miles" are on the car. I hope it was dirt cheap. Are you sure this is just idle hours or total operating hours?

Idle hours just tells you how much time the car has been sitting with engine on and not driving. Odometer miles increase based on movement of the transmission. Large idle hours would change your mpg but should not add to the Odometer reading

I paid $2500 for the car which I think is about $500 too much. KBB value around $2k. Another question, the light that shows the odometer is very dim. I can't see it in the daytime but I can at night. The person I bought it from says this is a common problem in police cars. Can this be corrected? Thanks.

33 x 2,700 = 89,100 miles. Add that to the odometer and you have a 242,000 mile car. I would not have paid more than $1,000.

How did find idle hours?

Idle hours are displayed by pushing in the right-side odometer stock. Pushing in that stock will scroll thru mileage, idle hours and trip odometer readings.
