AC Compressor Location on 350 Small Block Chevy

I'm buying a AC Compressor for my 1985 pontiac parisienne but it's not the
original engine it's a small block 350 where would the AC compressor be bolted
at? My mechanic said it would be on the left bottom corner but I think It should
be bolted across from the alternator (alternator on the left- and ac compressor
on the right). Let me know what you all think.

Typically on the left but the exact brackets would vary from year to year and also with the model of the car. You probably need to spend some time in junk yards looking for the right brackets and pulleys.
